Romantic Route Express (Postal Bus)
Route: Andermatt - Furka Pass - Gletsch - Grimsel Pass - Meringon - Groxsse Scheidegg - Grindelwald

Andermatt-Gletsch -- Experience a thrilling ride in a yellow Postal Bus over the Furka Pass, and down to the village of Gletsch, passing by the eye-popping Rhone Glacier.

Gletsch - Meiringen -- The Postal Bus leaves Gletsch and climbs a serpentine road up to the Grimsel Pass, passes by lakes and eventually enters the town of Meiringen.

Meiringen - Grindelwald -- From Meiringen, continue your trip over the Grosse Scheidegg to Grindelwald.

Mont Blanc Express
Route: Martigny - Chatelard Frontiere - Chamonix (France)

Starting point for the unique Mont Blanc Express is in Martigny in the canton of Valais. Crossing the wild Trient Gorge and ascending to breath0taking heights towards Chamonix, travelers will see waterfalls crashing down and majestic mountain crags rising in the background. Shady forests alternate with cozy villages and ultimately give way onto the grandiose glacier of Mont Blanc, Europe's highest peak.

St. Bernard Express
Route: Maertigny - Orsieres - Grand St. Bernard

Just like the Mont Balnc Express, the St. Bermard Express also has its point of origin in Martigny. Pass through the Dranse Valley to Orsieres, from where a bus will take you to Champex-Lac, La Fouly or it is is summer, to the hospics on the Grand St. Bernard Pass. There visit the legendard kennels where the dogs of the same name are bred, as well as the small local museum to view the Roman artifacts found here. Travel time approximately 1 1/2 hours.

 

Swiss Chocolate Train
Route: Montreux - Gruyeres - Brok, & return

Ride in first-class comfort in a "Belle Epoque" Pullman car, vintage 1915 and/or the modern panorama car affording stunning views of the vineyards surrounding Montreux on the Swiss Riviera, ascend to Gruyeres, and eventually continue to Broc, where the chocolate factory is situated. The Swiss Chocolate Train runs every Wednesday from June to October, and every Monday in July and August. Fare includes seat reservation, coffee and croissants on the train, bus from and to Gruyeres train station, visit to Castle Gruyeres, visit to Cheeese Factory in Gruyeres, and Nestle Choclate Factory visit in Broc.

Lotschberg Line and Centovalli Railways
Route: Bern - Lotschberg - Domodossola (Italy) Centovalli - Locarno

On theLotschberg line and through two of Europe's longest train tunnels (Lotschberg and Simplon) you will reach the South side of the Alps in Domodossola (Italy). From there, the blue-white train of the Centovalli railways will bring you to Locarno through wildly romantic valleys and gorges. Watch gushing waterfalls, tidy vineyards, chestnut forests, and willages that time forgot -- all rolling by your window. Travel time approximately 4 hours.

Pre-Alpine Express
Route: Romanshorn - St. Gallen - Rapperswill - Arth-Goldau - Lucerne

The Pre-Alpine Express (Voralpen Express) is one of the prettiest and most comfortable ways of getting from Lake Constance to Lake Lucerne. Rapid trains leave Romanshort for Lucern hourly (as well as reverse routes). Stop-over tips: Cloister and Rococo Abbey Library of St. Gallen, Mount Santis, Appenzell and surrounding region, Toggenburg, Children's Zoo Rapperswil, Alpamare Pfaffikon, Cloister Einsiedein, Animal Park Goldau, Rigi, Transportation Museum Lucerne, boat rides on the four lakes (Constance, Zurich, Zug, and Lucerne).
